Sourcepoint is a Google-certified CMP for EEA/UK

The Sourcepoint CMP is now a Google-Certified CMP

Google announced that they will soon require both their publisher and advertiser customers to use a CMP. Specifically, a Google-certified CMP. Sourcepoint is pleased to announce that our CMP has been one of the first CMPs to be certified as an approved CMP.

Partners using their publisher products — Google AdSense, Ad Manager, or AdMob — now have to use a CMP from Google’s approved list when serving ads to users in the European Economic Area or the UK. For publishers with an app, make sure that your selected CMP partner offers a CMP for apps solution. Update: Starting in July 2025, a Google-certified CMP will also be required for CTV and OTT.

We welcome this important step in establishing industry-wide privacy standards and consistent user experiences. We have been proud to partner with Google to provide a vendor scanning solution via their Google Ad Manager product since 2022.

Certification requirements

Google CMP Partners are CMPs that support the IAB Europe’s Transparency & Consent Framework (TCF) and Google Consent Mode v2.

Google’s announcement followed the IAB Europe’s announcement that the TCF v2.2 has been finalized. You can read more about the changes coming to TCF v2.2 on our blog.

Google’s CMP assessments will also look at whether the CMP correctly supports the Additional Consent specification for adtech vendors not participating in the TCF.
